Signing MOU with Ghostpass, Decentralized Identity Verification
AI regulation law response, manage facial information yourself
The leak of personal information of users due to hacking of central servers has become an issue from time to time. Now, with the advent of on-device AI, the era of decentralized identity verification has arrived where people directly manage their facial information that proves their identity.
Alchera, a company specializing in image recognition artificial intelligence (AI), announced on the 6th that it has signed a business agreement with Ghostpass, a distributed biometric authentication solution company.
Through this agreement, the two companies will cooperate to develop and commercialize a decentralized remote authentication solution based on facial recognition technology.
The core technology of the decentralized identity verification business is to allow users to directly manage their facial biometric information through their smartphones, safely protecting personal biometric information from leaks and hacking.
The need for strengthening facial recognition technology and facial information protection is being emphasized not only in Europe and the United States, but also domestically, including in the recent approval of AI regulations in the EU. Accordingly, decentralized AI facial recognition identity verification is expected to become a key solution to respond to global regulations.
Alchera's AI facial recognition is a technology that verifies identity by comparing unique facial features, and is actively used in fields that require non-face-to-face identity verification, such as finance and security.
You can easily verify your identity by simply taking a selfie, and you can use it for a variety of services, such as account opening and payments, by registering your facial information once.
Alchera CEO Hwang Young-gyu said, “In order to strengthen the protection of individuals’ biometric information, it is urgent to establish a domestic legal system. Since AI regulation laws have already been enacted overseas, countermeasures are also needed in Korea.” He expressed his ambition, saying, “Alchera will achieve yet another technological innovation in line with the changing AI environment and demands for personal information protection in the global market.”
Meanwhile, Alchera, as a supplier of the 'Digital Innovation Company Global Growth Voucher Support Project', has decided to provide technical support to GhostPass for the development of an on-device AI facial recognition system.
