The largest private AI summit, with participation from domestic and international AI scholars and entrepreneurs, will be held in Seoul in November.
SK Telecom (CEO Yoo Young-sang) announced on the 7th that it will hold the 'SK AI Summit 2024' at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul from November 4th to 5th.
In particular, this summit will be attended by key foreign figures such as OpenAI Chairman and President Greg Brockman, Microsoft Executive Vice President Rani Borkar, Sinovation Ventures and Limes AI Chairman Kai Fu Lee, and AI cloud company Lambda CEO Stephen Balaban, as well as domestic AI experts such as Taejae University President Yeom Jae-ho, Vice Chairman of the National AI Committee, and SBVA (formerly SoftBank Ventures) CEO Lee Jun-pyo.
The 'SK AI Summit', an event held annually by the SK Group, will be held this year at a larger scale, centered on AI, taking it to the next level. This year, global experts in all fields of AI will gather to discuss coexistence in the era of artificial general intelligence (AGI) and seek ways to strengthen the ecosystem across all fields of AI.
In particular, SK Chairman Choi Tae-won will present the coexistence law and AI vision for creating a global AI value chain in his opening remarks at this event. The event will also open with a splendid congratulatory message from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
This summit will be diversely composed of approximately 100 presentation sessions and 50 exhibitions and experiences in the AI technology field prepared by SK and domestic and international partners.
On the first day of the event, November 4th, the Chairman and President of OpenAI, which is considered the world's best in the field of large-scale language models, will attend and look into the future of AI. Greg Brockman, President and CEO of OpenAI, will take the stage to speak on the topic of “A Vision for the Future of AI.”
Next, Microsoft Executive Vice President Rani Bokar, Shinovation Ventures and Limes AI Chairman Kai-Fu Lee, and U.S. small modular nuclear power plant developer Terra Power CEO Chris Levesque will each give keynote speeches to discuss the future and opportunities of AI services, AI data centers, and related infrastructure, which are hot topics in the AI field.
In particular, on the first day of the event, November 4th, SKT CEO Yoo Young-sang and SK Hynix CEO Kwak No-jeong plan to present the 'AI Unpack' showcase, revealing SK Group's AI strategy and product development status.
In addition, there will be presentations and panel discussions on topics such as AI infrastructure, AI semiconductors, and AI services.
In the AI infrastructure field, Mark Adams, CEO of SGH, a leading US AI data center integrated solution provider, and Stephen Balaban, CEO of US AI cloud company Lambda, will make keynote speeches, followed by a panel discussion with SKT CEO Yoo Young-sang. The moderator will be Taejae University President Yeom Jae-ho, who is also the Vice Chairman of the National AI Committee.
In the AI semiconductor and service areas, there will be a keynote speech by Sam Naffziger, executive vice president of AMD, an American semiconductor company, as well as a panel discussion with several global AI ecosystem leaders.
On the second day of the event, November 5th, there will be a panel discussion centered on the K-AI Alliance and talks on future businesses that AI will trigger, such as AI energy, future AI memory, global telco AI alliance, and AI services.
SKT explained that the number of attendees at this event, which will be held under the theme of 'AI Together, AI Tomorrow,' is expected to exceed 15,000. In addition, the keynote speeches held over the two days will be live streamed online via YouTube.
As it is being held on the largest scale ever, an exhibition hall will be set up where you can experience various AI technologies and services in depth.
The exhibition hall will showcase not only SK AI technology and services, but also global big tech exhibition halls such as AWS, MS, and Google Cloud, as well as various AI technologies from AI Alliance member companies such as Lambda, SGH, Moloco, and Bespin Global.
This exhibition is expected to attract the attention of visitors to key technologies related to AI data centers (AIDC), including ‘liquid immersion cooling’, which is evaluated as a next-generation data center thermal management method, AI energy solutions, and security. In addition, AI infrastructure and platforms such as AI semiconductors, Telco Edge AI, and Telco LLM, as well as AI services such as AI personal assistants, AI 4 vision set-top boxes, and AI-based material quality pre-prediction systems, will be showcased.
In addition, a special space called 'Deep Dive Zone' has been set up on one side of the exhibition hall where you can gain deeper insight and exchange professional information about AI. In this space, along with presentations from each person in charge of the exhibition items, there will also be special talk concerts by influencers such as Shuka and Orbit.
