Expanded to 25 member companies in just 2 years since launch
The 'K-AI Alliance', a Korean AI innovation company alliance led by SKT, has expanded its scope to 25 member companies in just two years since its launch, establishing itself as a representative national AI alliance.
SK Telecom (CEO Yoo Young-sang) held an 'IR Pitching Day' with K-AI Alliance member companies in Las Vegas on the 8th, where CES 2025 is held.
Five K-AI Alliance member companies participated in the event that day.
Persona AI introduced ‘the future of edge AI technology’, Imprimed introduced ‘technology to predict the efficacy of anticancer drugs in animals and humans using AI’, Lablup introduced ‘AI infrastructure platform for AI model training and services’, Twelve Labs introduced ‘multimodal AI model that understands images’, and Imocog introduced ‘AI-based dementia management digital healthcare platform’, etc., along with their innovative AI technologies and plans and directions for this year.
During the Q&A session following the presentation, there was active discussion on the importance of cooperation and networks between domestic AI companies and the need for joint global advancement.
SKT will also hold a 'Private Networking' event during CES to encourage active exchanges between domestic AI startup companies.
The goal is for K-AI Alliance member companies and promising AI startups participating in CES to come together to share insights on CES and AI trends, and to network with Silicon Valley venture capitalists (VCs).
Imprimed CEO Lim Seong-won, who attended the event, said, “I am delighted to have the opportunity to share our technology and vision at CES, a global event visited by over 100,000 people from around the world.” He added, “I believe this opportunity will serve as an opportunity for the AI Alliance representing Korea to further expand and develop.”
With the addition of three domestic AI innovation companies, the 'K-AI Alliance' led by SKT has expanded to a total of 25 companies in just two years since its launch.
The newly joined companies are AI video analysis company 'Twelve Labs', AI search service development company 'Liner', and AI digital health company 'emocog'.
SKT plans to further expand the scope of the K-AI Alliance this year to establish it as Korea’s representative AI innovation alliance. Based on this, the plan is to not only activate the domestic AI ecosystem but also lead joint entry into the global market.
SKT CEO Yoo Young-sang said, “Exchange and cooperation among Korea’s AI innovation companies are essential to rise as a global AI powerhouse,” adding, “We will work to ensure that the K-AI Alliance can unite as Korea’s representative AI team and lead the development of the AI industry.”
