Applications accepted until February 14th, with a focus on practical changes in public services
This year's large-scale AI service development support contest will provide support worth 5.64 billion won, focusing on projects that can bring about real changes in public services.
The Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Yoo Sang-im) and the Digital Platform Government Committee (Chairman Kim Chang-kyung) will hold a contest for the '2025 Ultra-Large-Scale Artificial Intelligence (AI) Service Development Support Project' from January 20 to February 14.
This project aims to create innovative services to expand the introduction and use of ultra-large-scale artificial intelligence in the public sector.
The project is part of the 'Super Large-Scale Artificial Intelligence-Based Service Development Support Project' jointly promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Digital Transformation and Innovation Committee, with the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIT) participating as a specialized organization.
We support service development and online platform use so that the public sector, including central administrative agencies and local governments, can freely use private sector super-large-scale artificial intelligence.
In 2023, we developed a ‘Consultation Support AI Assistant’ service that utilizes a super-large language model for civil complaint consultations, shortening the waiting time for complainants and improving the quality of consultations.
In 2024, a total of eight public sector AI services were developed, including the 'AI Labor Inspector Service', which provides 24-hour labor law consultation services, and the 'AI Multimodal Service', which supports communication for the disabled.
The 2025 project will be promoted in the form of central government ministries, local governments, and public institutions discovering and planning ultra-large-scale artificial intelligence utilization services in the public sector, with private specialized companies participating.br />
The support scale was set at a total of 5.64 billion won for approximately 5 projects.
This year, the project will be promoted by soliciting projects utilizing ultra-large-scale artificial intelligence from public institutions, etc., and then signing a procurement contract with a private specialized company that will develop the project.
In this contest, we plan to focus on selecting projects that can bring about real changes in public services through the introduction and use of ultra-large-scale artificial intelligence.
We plan to actively support the creation and expansion of innovative services utilizing ultra-large-scale artificial intelligence based on public-private cooperation.
Detailed information regarding the public offering for the service development support project will be provided at the public offering briefing session to be held at the Korea Federation of Banks building in Jung-gu, Seoul on February 4th.
Detailed information about the contest can be found on the Korea Intelligence Information Society Agency website (www.nia.or.kr).
