▲SK Specialty received ISO37001 Anti-Corruption Management System International Certification
7 subsidiaries ISO37001 certified, management transparency evaluated on the global stage
SK Materials, a materials technology specialist, was recognized for its efforts in establishing a risk prevention, management, and monitoring system for fair trade, anti-corruption, etc., and in ethical management.
SK Materials announced on the 30th that seven of its subsidiaries have received international certification for the ISO37001 anti-bribery management system from the British Standards Institution (BSI).
The seven subsidiaries that have been certified are SK Specialty, SK Materials Airplus, SK Trichem, SK Materials Performance, SK Materials JNC, SK Resonac, and SK Materials Group Fortin.
ISO 37001 is an international standard for preventing corruption-related risks that may arise in corporate activities. It is a management system that prevents and supervises corruption-related acts such as bribery, embezzlement, and personnel recruitment corruption among executives and employees or third parties.
BSI, a British royal institution founded in 1901, was the first in the world to establish international standards and established the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and the European Committee for Standardization (CEN).
This certification is significant in that it acknowledges SK Materials’ company-wide efforts to establish a global-level anti-corruption system.
SK Materials Co., Ltd. is directly under the board of directors. We have strengthened the transparency of our corporate governance structure by establishing a dedicated ethics management organization and establishing fair trade and risk prevention systems for each subsidiary.
In particular, after analyzing potential risks, we reorganized related regulations and policies to proactively prevent corruption risks, and systematically and specifically implemented measures such as establishing an anti-corruption policy, introducing a corruption risk identification and evaluation system, and conducting anti-corruption due diligence of partner companies, thereby enhancing the level of management.
In addition, we will internalize ethical management by regularly monitoring anti-corruption activities and implementing education programs for executives and employees, and we plan to expand the anti-corruption culture by encouraging the participation of stakeholders in the future.
Kim Yang-taek, CEO of SK Materials, said, “Anti-corruption system is a basic and essential element of corporate management,” and added, “Through this certification, we will build trust among various stakeholders that ‘SK Materials is a company that can be trusted for ethical management.’”
