Following Altera's Video System

2012.11.20 10:30~12:00 함석필 차장 / ALTERA
While general-purpose SoC-type devices are commonly used in VIDEO system configurations, they may be insufficient to accommodate the diverse requirements and additional functionalities demanded by many different consumers, and in some cases separate external devices must be employed. Altera FPGAs have the advantage of being able to easily integrate user-defined IPs along with basic video-related IPs into a single chipset, enabling the implementation of additional functions in a single chipset without board size constraints. Design can be unified through the integrated Quartus tool, and such design can be simplified using Qsys (SoPC Builder). Furthermore, unlike general-purpose SoCs, by not implementing unnecessary portions in the FPGA, additional benefits can be achieved through optimization of power loss and design resources. In this online seminar, we will create a beneficial process of implementing various video IPs on the VEEK board that can configure video systems ranging from simple configurations with minimal external analog peripheral device components to highly complex and multi-functional video systems using Altera FPGAs.
