# Google I/O 2013 Preview Through Re-examination of Google I/O 2011/12
In 2011, Google presented the global electronics engineering community with a gift that could be either a poison or a cure—the ADK1.0 through Google I/O 2011. It provided an integrated environment where, even without deep knowledge of electronics or programming code, anyone could take an RC car lying around at home, combine it with the ADK1.0, control it from greater distances and with more power, and create projects easily and conveniently. It is said that at Google I/O 2013, beyond last year's ADK2.0, the ADK3.0 will be announced.
Along with this, Google Glass, a wearable PC, has already been announced. The content to be presented this time differs significantly from what was announced in 2011 and will include many technical elements. It can be said that the technical level has risen considerably. In some ways, the content may be entirely different from the level of ADK1.0 that the general public could understand in 2011, and could potentially be so technical that even electronics engineers might find it challenging.
Therefore, in this seminar, we plan to cover the ADK1.0 / 2.0 content announced in 2011 and 2012, as well as the anticipated 3.0 version. Additionally, we will introduce a new Arduino board for Cortex M3, which extends the Arduino platform—previously available only for AVR—to ARM-based Cortex M3 processors that are currently gaining attention and widely used in the market. We will explain the Cortex M3 Arduino board series that we will study and gain experience with together with various engineers throughout 2013.
Through this seminar, you will be able to acquire foundational knowledge to better understand Google I/O 2013, and you will also hear about the benefits of using Arduino with high-performance ARM-based processors, moving beyond Arduino limited to Atmel AVR alone.
