Bridging the Technology Gap through Innovation—Altera Programmable Solutions That Secure Safety and Convenience

Automotive infotainment is expanding further in the AV domain, with navigation as well as various control sections such as instrument clusters and air conditioning systems being integrated together, and RSE functionality is also being extended considering driver safety and passenger convenience. As automotive infotainment integration progresses at increasingly rapid speeds, there is a growing trend of corresponding increases in demand for programmable solutions such as FPGAs. In the case of ADAS, which is directly linked to safety, high-reliability technologies from the space industry, aircraft, and military applications are successively being mounted on vehicles with the benefit of price reduction. Furthermore, in conjunction with regulations in each advanced country, efforts have been initiated to reduce traffic accident risk to zero. FPGAs are used independently or together with dedicated ASSPs depending on the type of application, enabling the integration of multiple distributed functions and circuits. During this session, we will observe how both the infotainment sector pursuing convenience and the ADAS sector pursuing high reliability have developed, and forecast where they will progress in the future.
