Small Package, High Efficiency DC-DC Buck Converter with Fast Response Characteristics
DC-DC Synchronous Rectifier (SR) Buck Regulators are used in Point-of-Load (POL) applications in Computing, Server, Storage, Telecom/Communication, Consumer and other sectors. Currently, alongside efforts to reduce design space and cost across these diverse application fields, High Efficiency and Fast load transient performance are being increasingly demanded. In this seminar, we plan to introduce Fairchild's next-generation SR Buck Regulator, the Next Generation TinyBuck®, which addresses these requirements. These products improve design space and efficiency by integrating the Multi-Chip of Controller, Driver, and MOSFETs into a single package, and enhance Light Load efficiency and Load Transient Response through Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) via Constant On Time (COT) control. Along with the product introduction, we will also present Buck Regulator design guidelines and an introduction to the online simulation tool provided by Fairchild to help improve practical work efficiency.
