AC Motor Control Using ADI CM40x Based on Cortex-M4F and Simulink

This seminar will explain how to drive an AC motor using the ADSP_CM40x, ADI's latest MCU developed based on the Cortex-M4F, and Simulink from Mathworks Inc. 1. Introduction of specifications and coding flow for the ADSP_CM40x PWM controller and ADC controller, which are important in driving AC motors 2. Introduction to SINC3/SINC4 peripherals for the AD740x, an isolated sigma-delta modulator 3. Comparison and introduction of device driver-related C-codes for CM40x peripherals considering user convenience and future RTOS integration, as well as one-dimensional device driver-related C-codes according to operation sequence for easier control of individual peripherals. For example, a simple comparison between bootstrap code written in C-code and bootstrap code written in assembly, followed by a simple explanation of NVIC, and then demonstration of the process of developing an algorithm based on model in the Simulink environment, converting it to C-code, and running it on ADI's motor control evaluation board. During the seminar, there will be IAR Embedded Workbench configuration methods for using CM40x and a brief introduction. Finally, there will be an introduction to a new Simulink library related to AC motor driving, explanation of monitor program development process using Tera Term, and description of monitor program development methods using Matlab GUI.
