Examination and Research Development Solutions for 5G Candidate Technologies

Although international standard specifications for 5G have not yet been announced, telecommunications operators, telecommunications equipment manufacturers, and leading research institutions in each country are competing fiercely to develop their own proprietary technologies and introduce the results. Domestically, Korea is also moving swiftly not only through R&D but also through external collaboration to secure core 5G technologies. This presentation begins with an introduction to 5G key performance indicators (KPI) and use cases, then examines the 5G candidate technologies to meet 5G requirements, and explores the technical challenges that may be encountered in implementing them. Additionally, we introduce Keysight's unique Software + Hardware-based 5G solution that can provide insight into 5G R&D operations.
