mm-Wave Active Circuit Design and Characterization for 5G Applications

5G systems may require high-power amplifiers (PAs) that operate in the mm-Wave band. To secure high performance at high-frequency bands, transistors must have high power gain, and small-gate transistors through demanding manufacturing processes are required. In other words, realizing mm-Wave PA requires precise and accurate simulation that accounts for design rules with tight margins and strong EM coupling. This session introduces a case study of designing, manufacturing, and performing actual measurements of mm-Wave PA using Keysight design and measurement solutions. Additionally, it covers technical trends and applications of high-frequency power amplifiers.
