Low-Cost Conductive Nano-ink Technology Based on Photonic Sintering
This webinar will introduce low-cost conductive ink technology using photonic sintering with xenon white light, which has recently gained global attention as a replacement for expensive silver electrode materials.
Photonic sintering technology is a technique that enables the implementation of pure copper wiring (circuits) on a large scale in the atmosphere by pulsing xenon white light and irradiating it strongly onto copper ink wiring. Since the 1980s, many efforts have been made to replace expensive silver electrode materials, but inert atmospheres must be created or high-temperature sintering processes are required, making it impossible to replace silver electrode materials.
Photonic sintering technology is recently reported as the most promising technology that can dramatically solve these problems and electroplate copper. Even when manufacturing ink using pure copper or copper particles with oxide films and forming wiring, through the photonic sintering process, reduction reactions and sintering are completed at a speed of approximately 1/1000 second, providing the advantage of forming pure copper wiring. In addition, recently, remarkable results have been achieved using core-shell type particles, and by meeting a specific resistance of ~10⁻⁶ Ω·cm, excellent adhesion to substrates, and chemical resistance to acids, as well as successfully implementing high print resolution of 100 μm or less, it can be said that commercialization is very close. The advantages of this technology are, above all, the ability to manufacture high-performance electrodes through low-cost ink and the ability to implement electrodes on a large scale in the atmosphere in very short process times.
Through this webinar, discover innovative material and process technologies that can overcome the barrier of silver.
