Introduction to Single Cell Battery Fuel Gauge Solution for Accurate Battery Capacity Monitoring
Fuel Gauge primarily aims to check the remaining battery capacity, but it can also predict battery usage time, charging time, and other parameters, allowing this information to be conveyed to the user.
Beyond the purpose of securing and delivering battery-related information, Fuel Gauge offers additional functions and benefits such as improved battery stability, black box functionality, extended usage time, and extended battery life, making it an essential element in portable devices that use batteries.
Since battery voltage fluctuates depending on battery connection method, connection status, charge/discharge operation, ambient temperature, and battery lifetime, the traditional method of inferring remaining capacity from battery voltage has very poor accuracy.
