Latest Trends in Automotive Ethernet Implementation, Specification Analysis, and Test Solutions
This webinar will cover the latest trends in automotive Ethernet implementation and an introduction to Tektronix test solutions.
With growing interest in autonomous vehicles, automotive companies are conducting intensive research to develop high-performance, high-speed LiDAR and related products such as ADAS and Infotainment, targeting L3 and L4 levels.
Experts predict that Level 4 autonomous vehicles will begin full commercialization by 2030, and Level 5 autonomous vehicles will also be commercialized by 2035.
Currently, the industry is focused on R&D targeting Level 3, the conditional automation stage, and Level 4, the full automation stage, autonomous vehicles.
As the number of functions mounted on vehicles increases—such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Infotainment, and Vehicle-to-Everything communication (V2X)—communication and bandwidth requirements are growing. This increase in the number and complexity of vehicle electronic control units presents additional challenges for engineers. As a solution to improve communication efficiency, reduce the complexity of electronic systems, and increase communication speed, the industry views Ethernet as the most promising option.
Among Automotive Ethernet standards, 1000Base-T1 presents more complex PSD, Return loss, and Distortion tests compared to the existing 100Base-T1, and meeting specification standards is not straightforward, causing customers to face difficulties in certification testing.
Tektronix will explain the standard specifications for 1000Base-T1 (802.bp) and describe test methods using an oscilloscope as the reference for all conformance test items (PSD, Return loss, Distortion test, etc.), as well as test solutions that enable the creation of integrated test reports.
