STM32L4 Suffix 'P' and Implementing Low-Power Applications with External SMPS
The STM32L4 is a product family based on a new architecture designed by ST to achieve industry-leading ultra-low power consumption. It recorded 253 points in the EEMBC™ ULPBench® test, which compares the efficiency of ultra-low power microcontrollers, and is based on the Arm® Cortex®-M4 core with FPU and ST ART Accelerator™ features, delivering 100DMIPS of performance at 80MHz despite being an ultra-low power product.
This year, ST launched a new package for the STM32L4 MCU with suffix P added. It has the same functionality as the existing STM32L4, but additional pins have been added that allow operation by receiving input from an external high-efficiency SMPS power supply instead of the MCU's internal LDO.
In this webinar, we will introduce methods for connecting the STM32L4 to an external SMPS power supply and how to use it.
