Understanding Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Countermeasures
This webinar will introduce the principles of electrostatic discharge and countermeasure methods.
Electrostatic discharge is a field that must be understood broadly not only by circuit designers but also by factory and facility managers.
1. From the perspective of product designers, it is necessary to prevent potential product malfunction caused by actual internal damage from electrostatic discharge, which is a pulsed voltage from external sources.
2. From the perspective of factory and facility managers, electronic components, semiconductors, and products vulnerable to electrostatic discharge can be damaged due to electrostatic charge accumulation from conveyor friction and worker friction within the factory. For companies handling chemical substances, electrostatic discharge can cause catastrophic damage through explosions, so it is essential to understand and implement preventive measures.

This webinar is designed for those engaged in circuit development and will examine the basic concepts and generation mechanisms of electrostatic discharge, as well as other pulsed voltage sources. Additionally, we will explain the characteristics of these phenomena and introduce electrostatic countermeasure methods based on diodes, which are components designed to protect against electrostatic discharge in circuit design.
This will provide practical assistance to designers and managers in their actual development work environments.
