[5G Summit Live Broadcast] 3GPP RAN4 Update and OTA Test Solution
While FR1 in the Sub-6GHz band can be tested in Conducted mode, as is well known, FR2 operating in the mmWave band requires measurement in OTA environments. To increase Coverage of the FR2 band, beamforming technology is required in both gNB and UE, which introduces additional test requirements in the Spatial domain beyond the existing frequency and power domains. This transition to the OTA domain thus affects all aspects including RF, RRM, and Protocol signaling tests.
This presentation focuses on RAN4 updates (the latest standard updated at the end of February this year) covering EIRP, TRP, EIS, channel emulation, demodulation test methods, FR2 NR MIMO OTA, and related OTA test methods.
