Noise Reduction Measures for Electronic Circuit Development Part 4 – Noise Phenomena and Countermeasures on Signal Transmission Lines
In this lecture, we will distinguish between signal transmission lines and power supply lines during circuit design, and explain the noise phenomena occurring on each line and corresponding countermeasures in two parts.
First, the content to be introduced this time will examine noise phenomena on signal transmission lines and the corresponding countermeasures.

The most important aspect of noise phenomena on signal transmission lines is to properly match the characteristic impedance of the line in the design.
When characteristic impedance is not matched, reflected waves are generated extensively due to the uneven impedance characteristics during signal transmission, and ultimately the signal is distorted in the output.
However, until now, this was not a significant problem because the transmission speed of information signals was not fast. With the increasing use of high-speed transmission at Gbps rates, this has become a major source of noise.
We will explain how transmission lines should be designed for these aspects and how measurements should be conducted to determine the impedance value of the line.

Additionally, there is the phenomenon of crosstalk, which induces significant noise on adjacent lines. We will discuss improvement methods accordingly.
Noise reduction methods should be classified in stages and reduced step by step to achieve smooth operation of the overall system efficiently. Theoretical knowledge of reduction methods is necessary to establish effective reduction measures.
In this seminar, we will classify matters in stages, provide understanding of fundamental knowledge, and guide designers in practical application.

- 6 Layers 설계시 Ground와 Power층을 활용하면 좋겠지만(1L-S, 2L-G, 3L-S,4L-Power, 5L-Ground,6L-Signal으로 설계할 수 없을 경우 SSGPSS 로 가능할 것 같습니다. Core가 중간에 위치하게 되는 Stack up 구조라서 짐작하시는 것처럼 signal이 엄청 많습니다. ㅜㅜ 좋은 방법이 있을까요?
