IoT-Based Digital Protective Relay for Protecting Electrical and Power Equipment and Human Life
This lecture introduces Easergy P5, a new high-voltage protective relay from Schneider Electric, and explains efficient protection system solutions.

A protective relay is a device equipped with a command function that disconnects a faulty section from the circuit when an abnormal condition such as a short circuit or circulating current occurs in an electrical circuit. It can be said to be an essential device for protecting equipment.

Schneider Electric has introduced various series of protective relays including SEPAM, Micom, VAMP, and Easergy P3, and in particular, the newly released Easergy P5 provides high reliability, safety, and network connectivity based on over 100 years of technical expertise.
The greatest distinguishing feature of Easergy P5 is its adoption of a withdrawable structure, which simplifies installation and replacement processes, reduces replacement time including setting and logic input to within 10 minutes, and minimizes downtime—currently the highest standard in the industry.
Furthermore, it features an arc flash protection option, enabling both standard protective relay and arc protection relay functions in a single Easergy P5 unit.
