This webinar covers [DC/DC Converter Peripheral Circuit Design - Part 2], continuing from Part 1, and will introduce peripheral component selection for finalizing required specifications.
In Part 1, we briefly explained the basic operating principles of DC/DC converters, confirmation of required specifications, IC selection, and selection of input/output capacitors and inductors among peripheral components.
This time, we will explain the roles and design considerations for the following items: ①soft start time setting capacitor, ②output voltage setting resistor, ③bootstrap capacitor, and ④phase compensation resistor and capacitor.
The soft start time setting capacitor allows control of output voltage startup time and inrush current, while the output voltage setting resistor is related to output voltage value determination and precision.
The bootstrap capacitor is necessary for generating the high-side FET drive voltage for proper switching of the DC/DC converter, and the phase compensation resistor and capacitor, as their name suggests, are very important as they affect the phase margin setting of the DC/DC converter.
This webinar will provide more detailed explanation of these peripheral components. Together with Part 1, we hope this will be an excellent opportunity to gain understanding of DC/DC converter peripheral circuit design.
