# Precision Voltage and Current Measurement Equipment Fundamentals and Applications
Eco-friendly materials are currently being used globally not only in solar power and electric/hydrogen vehicles, but also in various other fields.
Accordingly, development of SiC and GaN used in power devices/modules with high efficiency and fast switching speeds is progressing.
Among the characteristics of power devices, electrical properties can be confirmed through current-voltage measurement, which is why it is widely utilized in many fields including R&D, product development, equipment, and manufacturing technology.
In this webinar, we will introduce the fundamental theory regarding current/voltage measurement, the fastest and easiest method to perform current-voltage characterization of DUT (Device Under Test), and the SMU that possesses these capabilities.
Prior to the webinar, SMU is an abbreviation for Source Measure Unit, which means that both sourcing and measuring can be performed simultaneously in a single instrument.
Conventionally, in order to measure I-V characteristic curves, sourcing equipment and measurement equipment were connected separately and then measurements were taken.
However, in this webinar, we would like to introduce the problems with the existing measurement methods and what advantages can be gained by utilizing SMU.
