Integrated BMS IC L9963 Meeting Functional Safety ASIL-D Requirements
Recently, the upward trend of electric vehicles that transmit power using batteries, such as EVs, HEVs, and PHEVs, has been rising very sharply, and accordingly, the importance of BMS for efficient battery management is emerging.
ST has initiated BMS business with key partners in the electric vehicle battery management technology field, leading ASIC solution development and technology, and based on the accumulated technology, has launched the L9963, an ASSP product that satisfies the ASIL-D grade.
The L9963 can implement integrated management not only for battery monitoring but also coulomb counter and balancing, and is designed to enhance safety through hot-plug protection and to be advantageous for cost reduction in the final system.
In this webinar, we will examine the characteristics and advantages of the L9963 and introduce ST's integrated solution for EV and HEV and 48V mild hybrid.
