Electrical Characteristics Evaluation of DC/DC Converters - Part 1
Rohm, a semiconductor manufacturer, develops and supplies a diverse range of products including discrete semiconductors, LSIs, and modules. In particular, Rohm provides useful information related to regulators (LDO, DC/DC, etc.) to assist with power supply design.
In this webinar, under the theme of "Electrical Characteristics Evaluation of DC/DC Converters - Part 1," we will explain which aspects of actual circuit operation and characteristics should be evaluated and by what methods, organized according to each evaluation item.

The first evaluation item is load regulation.
Load regulation is an evaluation item that assesses the stability of how much the output voltage fluctuates in response to changes in load current. We will explain the measurement method and precautions for load regulation, as well as improvement methods.
The second evaluation item is inductor current measurement.
The inductor is an important component in switching power supplies. We will explain the calculation method for inductance values and the inductor selection method, and we will describe how to verify whether there is overstress and saturation when evaluating inductor current.
The third evaluation item is output voltage measurement.
We will explain the correct method for measuring output ripple and spike noise when evaluating output voltage accuracy.
The fourth evaluation item is power supply efficiency.
We will explain the evaluation method for power supply efficiency, the importance of losses in power supply efficiency, and the reasons for and parameters of each type of loss.
