100BASE-T1 Automotive Ethernet and I3C Protocol Analyzer/Exerciser
In this webinar, we will examine the key characteristics of I3C and 100BASE-T1 and explain protocol testing and debugging methods using the Prodigy protocol analyzer.
Mobile products such as smartphones, IoT Internet of Things, and wearables apply various types of sensors to transmit more information at low power consumption.
The sensors installed in the latest smartphones include dozens of types such as gesture sensors, proximity sensors, gyro sensors, and acceleration sensors, making it difficult to accommodate them with I2C and SPI.
To overcome this, the MIPI Alliance established the I3C standard, a new interface for connecting peripheral devices and sensors.
I3C is a technology that evolves the advantages of I2C and SPI technology and is expected to play an important role in simplifying sensor circuits in mobile, embedded, and automotive products.
The Prodigy PGY-I3C-EX-PD I3C protocol analyzer is essential protocol analysis equipment that monitors communication between enhanced I3C master and slave devices and is necessary for debugging work to correct errors. It provides functionality as both master and slave, and can generate I3C traffic with the capability to inject errors.

100BASE-T1 is an automotive-specific ethernet standard that meets EMI emission requirements, cabling weight, cost, and footprint requirements demanded by vehicle networking.
With advances in vehicle electronic equipment such as infotainment including connected cars, ADAS, and powertrains, high-bandwidth communication networks are required for high-volume real-time data transmission shared among various ECUs. The Prodigy PGY-100BASE-T1-PA automotive ethernet protocol analyzer applies patented passive tap technology to enable latency-free protocol data measurement of the 100BASE-T1 bus at the physical layer. Through powerful multi-level protocol trigger functionality, protocol activity can be captured at specific events, and continuous streaming of captured protocol data to the host computer storage device enables extended-duration capture.
