Humans are primates that use tools and are also called tool-making humans (homo faber). Tool use is a characteristic of humans, and human civilization has advanced through the use of tools. The rapid development of human scientific civilization since modern times has been due to the invention of scientific instruments that expand the capabilities of the five senses. 

Research equipment serves as such scientific tools, and there is analysis suggesting that two-thirds of Nobel Prize achievements result from the development and advancement of such research equipment.

Despite being an industry of such national importance and strategic value, this sector has been neglected in Korea.

However, for Korea to make a genuine leap forward as an advanced nation, this is a field that can no longer be overlooked, and we wish to introduce the current state and importance of this sector.

Furthermore, even in these challenging circumstances, we aim to introduce you to successful companies and technologies pioneering the world's leading atomic force microscopy field, which is opening a new era of nanoscience and technology research. Through this, we wish to convey a message of hope that if we are determined, Korea can lead the world even in this field where we are significantly lagging behind.
