Current Status and Future of Automotive Cybersecurity and Infineon's Response Strategy
As automobiles are increasingly connected to the external world through various networks, they are evolving beyond their simple role as a means of transportation into "connected cars" that provide diverse forms of services.
The fact that vehicles are connected through various networks also means providing hackers with multiple attack vectors, and through these, they can be easily exposed to external threats such as malware distribution, data manipulation, and physical attacks at the hardware level.
These external attacks not only threaten the safety of occupants and result in damages such as personal data loss, but also impact the business of automotive manufacturers.
The automotive industry has already recognized the importance of cybersecurity, and multiple automotive manufacturers, component suppliers, semiconductor manufacturers, and international standards organizations are working together to develop various standards and regulations.
As a global leader in semiconductor security solutions for decades, Infineon supports a diverse portfolio of security products applicable not only to automotive but also to industrial IoT applications.
In particular, Infineon's automotive MCU product AURIX™ supports an integrated security module called HSM (Hardware Security Module). The HSM integrated in the MCU can be used for secure data storage and cryptographic operations for implementing security functions, which can be utilized as a function for cryptographic operations requiring real-time high-speed data processing.
In this webinar, we plan to introduce various automotive security activities both domestically and internationally to understand the current state and future of automotive cybersecurity.
We will also introduce the automotive cybersecurity solutions provided by Infineon, and in particular, examine the actual automotive cybersecurity implementation cases being applied by automobile manufacturers utilizing AURIX™.
