AWS Cloud Service Design Using LTE Cat.M1
Mouser Korea regularly conducts online and offline seminars to assist engineers, and in this webinar we will share demo methods for AWS cloud service design using LTE CAT.M1.
LTE Cat.M1 is an LTE-based communication method created for Internet of Things devices. It has LTE network coverage but operates as a low-speed communication method with a maximum transmission speed of 300Kbps, making it suitable for creating independent IoT devices regardless of network infrastructure.
1. Advantages and Disadvantages of Using LTE Cat.M1 and AWS IoT SiteWise
Amazon provides AWS IoT services that enable cloud access.
The most common approach to cloud services is to build and use various services individually. This involves receiving information from devices through AWS IoT and building services by deploying components in a virtual server environment on your cloud account.
However, AWS IoT SiteWise has these processes already prepared. By using these configured services, you can reduce the time needed for service launch and facilitate service expansion. It is generally prepared to easily build various services such as data collection, analysis, asset tracking, and asset management, which are typically required for building IoT services.

2. Building Global Services Through Global SIM
When using Global SIM and LTE-Cat.M1 together, through the roaming services provided by Global SIM, product services can be available in the same communication environment across more than 180 countries worldwide.
In other words, a product developed in Korea through Global SIM can be serviced identically on the telecommunications carriers' networks in 180 countries where Global SIM roaming is permitted.
I believe that small and medium-sized enterprises and startups with limitations can use Global SIM as an opportunity to expand not only domestically but also internationally.
Due to COVID-19, demand for non-face-to-face services has increased compared to before. Accordingly, various non-face-to-face services such as autonomous vehicles and autonomous delivery robots are being supplied and operated.
Among these, various activities in the Internet of Things field, particularly in the intelligent Internet of Things field, are being actively attempted.
