It has been 15 years since the emergence of smartphones. We must now prepare for the era after smartphones.
What technology will dominate the next 15 years after smartphones?
Kim Hak-yong, Director of the Internet of Things Research Institute, introduces the idea that all surrounding devices will possess intelligence of a different dimension from what we see today, referring to this as ambient computing technology.
Ambient computing refers to the collective set of technologies that enable various objects in the world we live in to become intelligent devices like smartphones, and through their interconnection, to provide smarter functionalities.
It is a world where many things that exist in the world have sensors, displays, processors, and communication capabilities embedded within them, and the data they generate is exchanged and processed in various ways to provide intelligent services.
In this seminar, we will invite Kim Hak-yong, Director and author of 『Ambient: Preparing for the Post-Smartphone Era』(2023), to discuss in detail the new ambient computing technology in the upcoming post-smartphone era, and examine what trends developers should focus on.
