AI Tech Concert - Applications of Computer Vision: AI Fire Detection System

There is a growing trend of product launches incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Global corporate CEOs and market research institutions have unanimously forecast that services and solutions converging with AI technology will expand. 

According to IDC, the global computer vision technology market size grew rapidly from $760 million (approximately 1 trillion won) in 2020 to $2.1 billion (approximately 2.6 trillion won) in 2021.

With projections indicating the market will reach $7.2 billion (approximately 9 trillion won) with a compound annual growth rate of 57% through 2025, the integration of computer vision solutions is considered a natural progression given that CCTV cameras are widely deployed across urban infrastructure. 

'Computer vision' is currently one of the most widely diffused AI technologies across the market. Computer vision, which detects objects and people through computers like the human eye, is expanding its domain into various services including △facial recognition △image analysis △security surveillance △and disaster safety prevention.

In the first session of this AI Tech Concert, we plan to discuss AI-based fire detection systems together with Kim Hyun-seok, CEO of AMC PLANET.

This will be a session to explore systems that analyze video input from standard CCTV through artificial intelligence to alert control centers to hazards in the early stages of fires, and to investigate the AI algorithms applied to such systems while sharing related insights.
