The Matter Standard Bringing Paradigm Shift to the Smart Home Market
Although smart home discussions have been ongoing for over 20 years, it seems that very few people actually live in smartly equipped homes and lead smart lives. This is likely because the smart home solutions we know do not provide the substantial user benefits we might expect, and building a smart home requires significant investment.
However, the biggest reason is probably that it is impossible to use devices made by different companies through a single app or in a unified manner.
Matter is a de facto standard that has emerged to solve these problems.
The Matter standard is expected to enable anyone to easily use smart homes by addressing four major issues encountered in existing smart home environments: ease of use, interoperability, reliability, and security.
Additionally, it is anticipated that the previously closed smart home platforms will transition to open platforms, and the smart home ecosystem will shift from device-centric to service-centric.
This webinar will explore the key features of the new Matter standard and discuss the changes in the smart home ecosystem that Matter will bring, as well as identify where new business opportunities will emerge.
