Review of Reverse Engineering Contest Results Using 3D Technology: Essential Guide for Design Engineers and Emerging Technology Experts
In this webinar, we will review the series of processes in which participants of the Creaform Contest acquired scan data using a 3D scanner and then performed reverse engineering, 3D printing, and dimensional inspection with the obtained data.
The scan data is completed as a final product through reverse engineering processes including coordinate system alignment, scan data editing, and surface generation using post-processing software such as VX model and peel.CAD. After printing the result with a 3D printer, the final data and printed output are evaluated for completeness through a process of comparing deviations between the reverse-engineered result and the printed output using VXinspect dimensional inspection software, and the final winner of the Creaform Contest was selected.
