Smart factories have countless IoT devices continuously connected to collect data on manufacturing processes, generating large volumes of data on an ongoing basis. Collected data is analyzed and utilized for process optimization and ultimately serves as a critical factor in improving productivity and quality at smart factories.
Enterprises are adopting cloud infrastructure to efficiently manage data, leveraging diverse IT resources such as servers, storage, and AI on an on-demand basis.
Recently, due to cloud security threats and cost concerns, adoption of private clouds has increased to simultaneously enjoy the benefits of public cloud and on-premises environments. Within a private environment, enterprises can secure competitive advantages by satisfying the benefits of AI, data privacy, and performance through private AI within predictable costs.
Cloud vendors have progressed to providing platforms that integrate and manage all functions within hybrid infrastructure combining these various environment types.
Hybrid cloud ensures interconnectivity across different environments, allowing enterprises to gain the benefits of edge computing. For example, rather than continuously sending data generated from IoT sensors to a central server, processing the data first at a computation server located close to the sensor enables more real-time and stable data management.
Meanwhile, as cyber security threats become increasingly sophisticated, the adoption of solutions protecting applications and APIs, such as zero-trust security, has emerged as an important issue.
This conference will examine cloud infrastructure development trends for manufacturing digital transformation and explore manufacturing site data analysis and management methods as well as security strategies through each company's solutions.
