NOVOSENSE Chip-Level Current Sensor Solution for High Precision and High Efficiency
Recently, major countries worldwide have declared carbon neutrality to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that cause abnormal climate conditions, and it is now necessary to transition to a renewable energy system to overcome energy crises resulting from unbalanced energy consumption.
A representative example can be found in the eco-friendly vehicle market.
Generally, electric vehicles are known to generate approximately three times less carbon dioxide compared to internal combustion engine vehicles.
However, there remain many challenges to be addressed, such as insufficient infrastructure including charging systems and relatively short driving range.
In particular, recent incidents such as lithium battery factory explosions and electric vehicle explosions have led to a surge in interest regarding battery fires.
While battery fire causes can stem not only from manufacturing defects but also from external impacts and environmental factors, it cannot be denied that systems must possess higher reliability and safety.
Monitoring, controlling, and optimizing electrical power is an essential requirement for systems, and accurate current measurement is necessary for maximizing efficiency, extending battery life, and enabling protective operations in case of faults.
