Digital Motor Management System 'Tesis Island'
Schneider Electric (Korea Branch CEO Kyung-Rok Kim), a global company leading the digital transformation in energy management and automation, is entering the North American battery market and providing digitalized prediction and maintenance functions that apply the latest technology to the battery process.
Schneider Electric announced on the 23rd that its digital motor management system, 'TeSys Island', has successfully entered the North American battery market together with a domestic company.
In the battery manufacturing process, which requires high precision and stability, the importance of solutions that help the process run smoothly is increasing. In particular, the stable operation of key equipment such as motors plays a key role in preventing production line interruptions and extending the life of equipment, thereby reducing costs.
In reality, most of the equipment in the manufacturing process is operated using multiple motors, which can cause unexpected production stoppages due to overload, overheating, and electrical imbalance. Therefore, a digital motor starter is essential to prevent losses and increase the stability of the entire process. Digital motor starters play a vital role in ensuring efficient and reliable operation of various machines and equipment used in battery processes.
Schneider Electric's Tesis Island is a digital motor management system that can be applied to sites of various sizes, and is its first entry into the North American battery market.
Tesis Island is a digital motor starter that integrates four products into one module, including an electronic contactor, an overload relay, an EOCR for definite protection, and a meter for measurement, to enhance simplicity. Using this, you can collect equipment data in real time and use that data to provide reliable services. From design to commissioning and repair, you can digitalize equipment manufacturing, and through this, you can find new ways to grow your business.
Tesis Island also offers innovative digital solutions for load management. It provides operational data for the new era of the Industrial Internet of Things, helping to make decisions based on the right information to optimize equipment performance. In addition, it provides a customized user experience with a user-friendly interface.
In addition, Tesis Island has further increased its accessibility in the North American battery market by combining with Schneider Electric’s Pro-face HMI. Pro-face HMI, which is key to digital transformation, is an interface that connects software and hardware, enabling more intuitive motor equipment monitoring and predictive maintenance. This provides advance warning when current and voltage conditions are abnormal, providing a highly visible and efficient solution.
“With Tesis Island’s entry into North America, we have been able to apply the latest technology to battery processes, as well as digitalized prediction and maintenance functions,” said Kwon Ji-woong, Head of Power Products Business Unit at Schneider Electric Korea. “As Schneider Electric’s Tesis Island has provided stable solutions in markets around the world, we anticipate its future expansion into the U.S. market.”
