UPS products suitable for home and small office
A new UPS product has been launched that provides efficient power protection through short-term battery power use during power outages in homes and small offices.
Schneider Electric Korea (Kim Kyung-rok, CEO of Korea Branch), a global company leading the digital transformation in energy management and automation, announced on the 20th that it has launched a new APC Back-UPS product with maximized convenience.
Schneider Electric's new APC Back-UPS Pro 230V Refresh maximizes user convenience with more battery backup outlets and USB charging ports for mobile devices, and supports power capacities from 650VA to 850VA to protect more equipment.
It also has an innovative design that saves up to 32% of installation space compared to previous models and reduces weight by approximately 33-35%, making it suitable for use at home and in small offices. The slim and lightweight design allows for easy installation under a desk or on a wall. In addition, the LED display provides real-time information about the remaining runtime, and there is also a mute button to easily silence the low battery alarm.
An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is essential to prevent data loss and protect equipment during sudden power outages such as blackouts.
UPSs provide stable power for a certain period of time even when the power supply is interrupted, and are used in various environments ranging from maintaining productivity in factories to corporate data centers, hospitals, small businesses, and homes.
Especially in the summer when power demand is high and indoor activities increase, the demand for small UPSs that provide power and surge protection for electronic devices such as wireless networks, computers, and game consoles in homes and small offices is increasing. It can protect computers and electronic devices by providing short-term battery power during power outages.
Schneider Electric is introducing the APC Back-UPS lineup, which is suitable for use in home and personal IT equipment due to its small size. This is a compact UPS that can reduce data corruption and equipment performance degradation that can occur when the power supply is suddenly cut off.
“Today’s smart home appliances rely heavily on network connectivity. In the event of a power outage, there is a risk that smart home features such as smart TV streaming, voice-controlled virtual assistants, and access to Wi-Fi will be lost,” said Sung-Hwan Choi, General Manager of Secure Power Business Unit at Schneider Electric Korea. “As the importance of networks has increased in the home, Schneider Electric aims to provide more efficient and reliable power protection solutions through the launch of this new APC Back-UPS product.”
Meanwhile, Schneider Electric's APC UPS celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. APC UPS, which established the UPS market by launching its first UPS in 1984, currently offers a diverse lineup of UPS products recognized as the industry's best network power protection solutions.
