Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, a global leader in digital reality solutions combining sensors, software, and autonomous technologies, is leveraging cutting-edge technology and human resources to help industries in the Gumi and Gyeongbuk regions build smart factories and automation systems.
Hexagon announced on the 12th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Research Institute (GERI) and Digital Chain at the Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Research Institute headquarters to strengthen the digitalization and autonomous manufacturing capabilities of industries in the Gumi and Gyeongbuk regions.
This agreement aims to promote regional industrial development through technological support, infrastructure construction, and joint research and development to accelerate autonomous manufacturing and digital transformation in the manufacturing sector, focusing on semiconductors, defense, and secondary batteries, which are the main industries promoted in the Gumi and Gyeongbuk regions. Through this agreement, the three organizations promised mutual cooperation to contribute to the revitalization of the regional economy by supporting the training of local talent and the digital transformation of companies.
Hexagon plans to provide autonomous manufacturing solutions and technology consulting in cooperation with the Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute and digital twin solution company Digital Chain to promote digitalization of manufacturing companies in the Gumi and Gyeongbuk regions. Through this, we will support local companies to introduce and operate autonomous manufacturing systems, and provide various solutions so that manufacturers can achieve optimization throughout the product life cycle through manufacturing process innovation. With this technical support, manufacturing companies in the Gumi and Gyeongbuk regions are expected to expand the construction of smart factories and automation systems.
In addition, Hexagon plans to provide consulting services to help manufacturing companies in the Gumi and Gyeongbuk regions establish management strategies for sustainable development by supporting carbon neutrality-related consulting and management system establishment. Through this, companies are expected to reduce carbon emissions and create an eco-friendly manufacturing environment.
