MOU with Vienna University of Technology, Austria
Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI) accelerates global cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics.
KETI announced on the 7th that it signed a business agreement (MoU) with the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien) in Austria for global cooperation in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI).
This agreement aims to promote cooperation between KETI and TU Wien in advanced industries by promoting △ global R&D cooperation, △ expanding exchange of research personnel, and △ strengthening networking through annual meetings.
KETI is a central research institute for domestic intelligent robot technology, and has focused on commercialization through the development of mobile robots based on generative AI.
Since its establishment in 1815, Vienna University of Technology has been a prestigious university of technology with strengths in cutting-edge fields such as engineering and computer science, and has produced world-renowned scientists such as Paul Eisler, the inventor of the printed circuit board.
KETI has been conducting research in collaboration with Vienna University of Technology on technologies that enable AI robots to learn complex assembly tasks based on visual language models (VLMs) and establish work plans on their own.
In the future, we plan to further expand cooperation between the two institutions, focusing on the Artificial Intelligence Research Center and the Intelligent Robotics Research Center, and discover the demand for the development of next-generation robots, such as humanoid robots.
KETI President Shin Hee-dong said, “Currently, AI and robotics technologies have gone beyond the research stage and are expanding into manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and services. “It is being utilized as a key technology to increase automation and efficiency in various industrial fields,” he said. “We will actively support joint research and personnel exchanges with excellent overseas researchers to bring together the cutting-edge technologies of both institutions.”
