Vector Announces Vehicle OS Success Story for SDV
“Vehicle OS, which is being jointly developed in cooperation with more than half of the world’s automobile manufacturers, is leading the change in the future automobile industry through data integration, AI technology, and standardized design, thereby innovating automobile stability and user experience.”
Vector Korea (CEO Ji-Hwan Jang, Vector Korea) announced ‘Vehicle OS’, an operating system for software-defined vehicles (SDVs).
The system was developed in collaboration with more than half of the world's automakers.
SDV is a system that integrates and controls all functions of a vehicle through software.
Vehicle OS integrates various electronic control units and coordinates key functions such as ADAS, infotainment, and powertrain control on a single platform. Optimize performance and enhance security with OTA updates via the cloud.
“Vehicle OS continuously improves performance not only by integrating various functions within the vehicle, but also by communicating data with the cloud,” says Dr. Günter Helling, Head of Embedded Software at Vector.
Mercedes-Benz's MB.OS is a representative example of a Vehicle OS.
It integrates and operates the vehicle's main functions based on a central high-performance computer (HPC).
“MB.OS separates software and hardware and provides scalability through a standardized architecture,” explains Dr. Helling.
Vehicle OS is revolutionizing vehicle safety and user experience through the integration of autonomous driving technology and AI.
“AI will analyze driver behavior and reflect vehicle data in real time to provide a better driving experience,” said Dr. Helling.
Vector Korea CEO Jang Ji-hwan emphasized, “Vehicle OS will accelerate technological innovation and create a safer and smarter vehicle ecosystem.”
