SDV Test Solution Novus Mini Launched
A compact SFP (small form factor pluggable) network test platform that automotive network engineers need to build software-defined vehicles (SDVs) is expected to provide practical verification and automated compliance testing for next-generation software-defined vehicles.
Keysight Technologies, Inc. announced the expansion of its Novus portfolio with the launch of the Novus Mini Automotive.
This is a compact SFP (small form factor pluggable) network test platform required by automotive network engineers in the process of building software-defined vehicles (SDVs).
Keysight extends the capabilities of its Novus platform to deliver next-generation automotive interfaces supporting 10BASE-T1S and multi-gigabit BASE-T1.
The solution supports speeds of 100 Mbps, 2.5 Gbps, 5 Gbps and 10 Gbps, and while existing test solutions require separate cards, Keysight's SFP architecture offers the advantage of being able to flexibly adjust speeds per port by attaching modules to existing cards.
As vehicles transition to zonal architecture, connected devices become core operational elements.
System errors due to network connectivity problems can have serious security implications.
To avoid this, engineers thoroughly test the suitability and performance of system elements. Must be distributed.
The Novus mini automotive platform increases efficiency in the testing process, reduces costs and enhances security.
The ability to perform traffic generation and protocol testing on a single platform allows engineers to optimize the testing process and save time without having to use multiple tools.
Additionally, it allows for quicker resolution when problems arise, resulting in a more effective response.
The platform supports BASE-T1 and BASE-T1S native interfaces, helping automakers reduce wiring and connector counts and cut costs.
It provides a single-pair Ethernet solution that can be flexibly applied to various vehicle models and configurations, and enables faster and more efficient data transmission than existing automotive communication protocols.
Its compact design and fanless, ultra-low-noise design allow for quiet operation, and it also has the advantage of economical cost per port.
In addition, it can verify various layers even in complex automotive network environments. It performs a wide range of performance and suitability tests from data link and network protocols to transport, session, presentation, and application layers to support smooth interoperability of multiple systems.
It also provides powerful features in terms of network security. It supports various timing standards such as TSN 802.1AS, 802.1Qbv, 802.1Qav, 802.1CB, and 802.1Qci, and can automatically perform compliance tests for them.
In automotive networks, accurate timing and synchronization are key elements to ensure the reliability and safety of ADAS and autonomous driving technologies, and also play a critical role in preventing unauthorized access and security vulnerabilities.
“Novus Mini Automotive provides practical validation and automated compliance testing for next-generation software-defined vehicles,” said Ram Periakaruppan, vice president and general manager of Keysight’s network test and security solutions business. “Our customers need confidence that their products will consistently meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements, and Novus Mini provides a compact, integrated network test solution that provides that confidence while continuing to innovate.”
