Building an ecosystem for on-device AI
In system semiconductors, chip development itself is important, but it is also important to provide technical support to end customers through hardware modules or application software in the form desired by each application field or customer. For this reason, it is important to build an ecosystem of partner companies that utilize AI semiconductor development companies’ chip and software technologies to manufacture modules and develop application software that are suitable for the end application field.
AI semiconductor company DeepX announced on the 7th that it has established a joint venture (JV) with domestic telecommunications equipment company Dasan Networks to build an on-device AI ecosystem. The joint venture plans to pursue a business that supports end customers by developing application modules or application software using semiconductor chips mass-produced by DeepX.
DeepX announced that on the 3rd, it signed a contract to establish a joint corporation called 'DX Solution' at the DeepX headquarters in Pangyo with the participation of DeepX CEO Kim Nok-won, Dasan Networks Chairman Nam Min-woo, and other officials from both companies.
Dasan Networks is a leading company in the network and battlefield technology sector. Based on global AP (Application Processor) and SoC (System on Chip) chips, it develops hardware modules and application software required by the automotive and network system industries, supplies them to the market, and reverse licenses them to global AP and SoC semiconductor companies, accumulating long-term know-how and technological prowess in the field.
DeepX announced that it signed the establishment of this joint venture, DX Solution, in order to quickly supply AI semiconductor products currently developed through Dasan Networks' experience to markets in various application fields.
DeepX signed a distribution contract with Daewon CTS for its on-device AI solutions in April ahead of mass production in the second half of this year, and is currently building more than 10 value chain partners in China, Taiwan, the United States, and Korea, as well as DX solutions, and is discovering more than 20 potential collaboration partners.
Kim Nok-won, CEO, said, “The on-device AI market is huge, but the market needs are diverse for each application field. In order to quickly and effectively attack the market, I believe it is essential to cooperate with partners who have accumulated experience in the relevant market.” He added, “The establishment of this DX solution was intended to establish a reference for DeepX technology.”
CEO Kim also said, “DeepX can establish itself as a global leading AI semiconductor company. He added, “We will continue to discover and expand cooperation with partners to build on-device AI platforms to provide customers with the best technology, products, and quality technical support services.”
