Joint development of new materials based on boron-based blue dopant and blue host patents
SK Materials JNC (CEO Ha Jung-hwan), an OLED materials company, has begun full-scale development of new OLED materials based on its patented boron-based blue dopant and blue host.
SK Materials JNC announced on the 21st that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Japan's Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. for joint development of OLED light-emitting layer materials, boron-based blue dopant and blue host.
The MOU was signed at Idemitsu Kosan’s headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, with key officials from SK Materials JNC and Idemitsu Kosan in attendance.
Through this MOU, the two companies have agreed to closely cooperate in the joint development of new materials and material evaluation by utilizing their respective technologies and patents related to boron-based blue dopants and boron-based blue host materials.
Founded in 1911, Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. is a leading global energy and materials company that develops and manufactures cutting-edge organic EL (Emission Layer) materials, including fluorescent blue materials (luminescent materials and host materials) and peripheral materials.Its customers include smartphone and TV manufacturers.
In addition to material development, we are also spurring the advancement of combination technology R&D to maximize the performance of organic EL materials.
SK Materials JNC is a joint venture established in 2020 by SK Materials and Japan's JNC. Based on its original patented technology for boron-based blue dopants, it provides integrated solutions ranging from cutting-edge blue dopants and materials through research and development to major OLED customers at home and abroad, as well as production, analysis, device evaluation, and quality control.
