Infineon Technologies AG (Korea CEO Seung-Soo Lee) has introduced a new cost-effective GaN product family that offers 20% better input and output figures-of-merit (FoM) than other GaN (gallium nitride, gallium nitride) products on the market, ensuring top performance in consumer power supplies.

Infineon today announced the launch of its new CoolGaN™ transistor 700 V G4 family.

This family of products has a voltage range of up to 700 V, making them highly efficient for power conversion. It provides 20 percent better input and output figures-of-merit (FoM) performance than other GaN products on the market, increasing efficiency, reducing power loss, and providing a more cost-effective solution.

The combination of electrical characteristics and packaging ensures optimal performance in a wide range of applications, including consumer chargers and notebook adapters, data center power supplies, renewable energy inverters, and battery storage.

The product series consists of 13 devices with a rated voltage of 700 V and an on-resistance range of 20 mΩ to 315 mΩ.

Device specifications are refined and a variety of industry standard package options, including PDFN, TOLL, and TOLT, allow you to select the RDS resistor and package based on your application requirements.

This allows us to optimize electrical and thermal system performance and implement the most cost-effective solution.

These devices feature fast turn-on and turn-off speeds and minimal switching losses. The on-resistance range supports power systems from 20 W to 25,000 W.

Additionally, the 700V E-mode with the industry's highest transient voltage of 850V enhances the robustness against abnormal phenomena such as voltage peaks occurring in the user environment, thereby increasing the reliability of the entire system.

CoolGaN transistor 700V G4 products in TOLL, PDFN 5x6 and 8x8 packages are now available, with more RDS(on) and TOLT packages to follow later this year.
