Providing VR training and professional-based hands-on opportunities
Full tuition free support… Benefits of additional points for public recruitment
Lam Research Korea (hereinafter referred to as Lam Research) announced on the 12th that it is recruiting the second batch of trainees for the 'Lam Research Tech Academy' to foster next-generation talent in the semiconductor industry.
The recruitment period is until Friday, the 22nd, and the training will be held on January 24, 2025 at Lam Research Yongin headquarters (54, Jisam-ro 201beongil, Giheung-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do).
Lam Research Tech Academy is a comprehensive program that provides theoretical education and hands-on opportunities in semiconductor equipment operation to university students to contribute to the development of talent that will lead the next generation of semiconductor industry innovation.
In particular, it is a great advantage that it goes beyond simple theoretical education and provides opportunities to practice on-site using Lam Research's latest semiconductor equipment. In addition, it has a VR curriculum that allows you to experience the internal structure and operating principles of the equipment, as well as each part, through a VR (virtual reality) education program based on 3D modeling. In addition, trainees will be able to meet with senior employees at Lam Research and receive practical advice and stories about the job, industry atmosphere, and recruiting.
The Tech Academy, which opened last year, had about 1,000 college students apply for the first batch of 20 students, and scored 4.99 out of 5 in a satisfaction survey after the training.
Park Jun-hong, CEO of Lam Research Korea, said, “Lam Research operates various training programs to foster semiconductor talent in Korea. In order to overcome the limited opportunities to experience the latest semiconductor equipment in university educational settings, we opened the Tech Academy to enable active use of our internal educational facilities equipped with cutting-edge equipment.” He added, “In particular, we are striving to create more opportunities for students to gain vivid field experience through the expanded training facilities at the Yongin campus where we relocated this year.”
The first batch of trainees shared their thoughts about Lam Research’s Tech Academy, saying, “It was a beneficial time to accurately understand the theories of equipment that I did not fully understand in my undergraduate course,” “It was an opportunity to obtain practical information about the preparation process and capabilities to become an equipment engineer,” and “My goal of contributing to leading the cutting-edge technology in the semiconductor industry as an equipment engineer became clear.”
The second batch of Lam Research Tech Academy applicants are undergraduate students in semiconductor-related departments, and 20 finalists will be selected through document screening and interviews. The training course is completely free, and those who complete the course will receive additional points when applying for Lam Research open recruitment. The third batch is scheduled to be held around July 2025.
