Market expansion and AI deployment accelerated through acquisition of ZT Systems
The data center market is growing due to the increasing demand for AI services. Even chip manufacturers are responding to market changes by providing a portfolio of hyper-scale server rack solutions that support AI.
AMD announced today that it has completed the acquisition of hyperscale solutions provider ZT Systems.
AMD, which last year announced the strategic acquisition of ZT Systems, a provider of computing infrastructure for data centers, recently announced that it has completed the merger and acquisition, completing its full-stack portfolio that supplies everything from AI chips to AI server/computing infrastructure.
AMD plans to provide solutions to enterprise and hyperscale AI customers, leveraging ZT Systems’ rack-scale, cloud-optimized design expertise.
With this acquisition, AMD will gain strategic advantages such as market expansion, AI deployment acceleration, and ZT Systems’ expertise. It is expected that AMD will gain the ability to respond to enterprise and cloud demands based on ZT Systems’ expertise in the data center AI accelerator market, which is expected to grow to $500 billion by 2028.
In addition, by integrating ZT Systems' design and customer support capabilities, the company plans to accelerate large-scale construction of AI infrastructure and shorten end-to-end construction time, providing a competitive edge in the AI market. AMD has additionally secured system expertise to provide an elegant AI full stack solution from semiconductor to rack.
“With the rapid pace of AI innovation, accelerating the end-to-end design and deployment time for cluster-level AI data center systems will provide a competitive advantage,” said Forrest Norrod, corporate vice president and general manager, Data Center Solutions Business Unit, AMD. “The acquisition of ZT Systems brings together expertise in system design and customer support, adding a critical resource to our AI strategy to deliver solutions built on an open ecosystem.”
