Vector Korea and Infineon Collaborate to Develop Hardware Abstraction Layer

It is expected that developers will be able to simplify the development process by enabling MCU development through a single, standardized interface without having to directly deal with complex hardware details.
Vector Korea announced on the 2nd that it has developed a hardware abstraction layer (HAL) in cooperation with Infineon that simplifies MCU (microcontroller) development and provides a standardized single interface.
This HAL development was promoted as part of the 'MICROSAR IO Collaboration Project for PSOC™4 HV Controller'.
HAL is designed to be utilized in MCUs with small memory footprints.
Developers can work through a standardized interface without having to deal directly with complex hardware details such as hardware registers or memory structures.
This simplifies integration of embedded software and improves reusability.
This HAL specification has been successfully implemented in Infineon's automotive microcontroller, the 'PSOC™4 HV' driver, and Vector's lightweight base layer, MICROSAR IO, has been applied.
Furthermore, this HAL specification can be utilized by other semiconductor manufacturers as well.
Vector's MICROSAR IO is a scalable interface management software bundle that enables software-based control of the inputs and outputs of electronic control units (ECUs).
The bundle is integrated as part of Infineon's automotive software development application, 'Drive Core'.
This will allow the automotive software development process to proceed more quickly and efficiently.
Infineon's 'Drive Core' is a scalable portfolio of software bundles that simplifies the solution development process, reduces migration burden and optimizes supplier management.
Infineon collaborates with leading companies in the automotive industry, including Vector, to provide a variety of libraries and development support that ensure integration and compatibility of drive core solutions.
Through this collaboration, Vector and Infineon are contributing to making automotive software development easier and advancing hardware abstraction technology.
