Flexible SW platform based on HPC·Zonal E/E architecture
Vector Korea (CEO Ji-Hwan Jang) has stepped on the accelerator for software-defined vehicle (SDV) development by introducing a new platform for SDV development.
Vector recently announced 'Vector Software Factory', an innovative platform for next-generation SDV development, SDV 2.0.
SDV 2.0 sets new standards for vehicle software development, integration, deployment, and operation, helping automakers and component suppliers stay competitive in a software-centric vehicle development environment.
The Vector Software Factory is built on high-performance computing (HPC) and Zonal E/E architectures to provide a scalable and modular base layer.
This enables seamless integration with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment), and vehicle control systems, and ensures high compatibility between systems through API-based data exchange functions.
Supporting software development in a cloud-native environment, developers can use automatic code generation and library building functions to achieve fast and efficient development.
This shortens the development cycle of vehicle software and enables rapid implementation of functions.
Also distributed The software enables real-time signal monitoring and data analysis via SDV Cloud, allowing continuous evaluation of the impact of software updates on vehicle performance and deriving future improvement directions.
In response to changes in SDV-based E/E architecture, Vector provides an SDK for developing zone controllers that integrate area-specific control logic and efficiently route services and signals.
This SDK enables multiple application vendors to develop and deploy software that runs within the same Zone controller in a consistent environment.
In particular, it provides a development environment and services including the AUTOSAR extension module SWCluC and an MCU-based hypervisor, providing clear guidance to controller developers to enable smooth integration with the system architecture.
Vector Software Factory provides virtual verification and testing environments based on HIL (Hardware in the Loop) and SIL (Software in the Loop), enabling you to secure the stability of your software in advance.
This can minimize bugs and errors that may occur in the early stages of development, reduce costs, and increase the efficiency of the entire development process.
“As the automotive industry rapidly shifts to software-centricity, an efficient and flexible software development and deployment environment is essential,” said Jaesoo Lee, head of the SDV & Embedded Solutions business unit at Vector Korea. “Vector Software Factory will be a powerful solution that will solve various challenges faced by developers and automobile manufacturers and lead the SDV era.”
