The era of 70 million telemedicine patients in the US, AI monitoring efficiency is high
As of last year, the number of remote monitoring patients in the U.S. reached 30 million, and this year, it is expected to more than double to 70.6 million. Accordingly, demand for AI monitoring technology is increasing due to the U.S. government’s support for the introduction of AI technology and deregulation.
Alchera X, the US subsidiary of Alchera, announced on the 16th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with RCP, a company specializing in remote monitoring and real-time disease management.
Through this agreement, the two companies will cooperate in developing a remote monitoring service for the elderly based on facial recognition AI and a chronic disease management solution. The two companies announced that they plan to: △strengthen remote medical services, △reduce medical and insurance costs, △strengthen patient information security, and △expand medical accessibility in underprivileged areas.
RCP plans to provide a non-face-to-face medical service that uses facial recognition AI technology to check patients' health status without visiting a hospital and efficiently manage medical records through accurate identity verification.
Through this, it is expected to contribute to eliminating the medical gap by providing medical services to the elderly with limited mobility, patients with chronic diseases, and patients living in medically underserved areas.
According to Grand View Research, the use of AI in medicine and healthcare is rapidly expanding due to the U.S. government's support for the introduction of AI technology and deregulation. In fact, the US medical imaging AI market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 33.2% to reach approximately $2.93 billion by 2030.
Alchera is expanding its facial recognition AI technology in the financial sector, which requires a high level of security, and is establishing itself as a leading company in the financial industry by recording the largest domestic market share. It is using its facial recognition AI technology to enter the US medical AI market and is using this as a growth engine for global expansion of its AI business.
Alchera CEO Young-kyu Hwang said, “This agreement will serve as an opportunity to further solidify the position of South Korea’s AI technology in the global healthcare market,” and explained, “In the medical field, where trust between medical professionals and patients is of the utmost importance, AI facial recognition solutions will play a huge role in increasing the reliability of the medical treatment process and expanding the healthcare market.”
