Suitable for high voltage such as DC-DC converter requiring 48V power supply
ROHM is responding to industry demands for high reliability and high precision solutions in the automotive field by launching a new high-precision current detection amplifier that is optimized for automotive power networks and high-voltage environments, while simultaneously realizing space savings and improved design efficiency.
ROHM has newly developed high-precision current detection amplifiers, 'BD1423xFVJ-C' and 'BD1422xG-C', that comply with the automotive device reliability standard AEC-Q100.
The 'BD1423xFVJ-C' series is suitable for high-voltage automotive devices such as DC-DC converters, auxiliary batteries, and electric compressors that require 48V power drive, and supports a maximum input voltage of +80V.
It adopts the TSSOP-B8J package and provides three models, 'BD14230FVJ-C', 'BD14231FVJ-C', and 'BD14232FVJ-C', depending on the gain setting.
The 'BD1422xG-C' series adopts a small SSOP6 package and operates in a +40V input voltage environment, making it ideal for current monitoring and overcurrent protection in the body and drive domains.
This is also 'BD14220G-C', 'BD1' depending on the gain setting. It consists of models '4221G-C' and 'BD14222G-C'.
ROHM introduced a two-stage amplification method that combines a chopper amplifier and an auto-zero amplifier in the new amplifier design.
This maintains a high precision of ±1% and minimizes the effects of temperature changes.
It is also designed to enable current detection simply by connecting a shunt resistor.
In particular, detection accuracy is maintained even when a filter for external noise countermeasures is added, which can significantly reduce design work.
The new product has already entered mass production since February 2025, and a monthly production system of 100,000 units has been established. Production will take place in Hamamatsu, Japan, Thailand, and the Philippines, and can be purchased through Internet parts distribution sites. In addition, a dedicated evaluation board for design evaluation is also provided.
