SmartThings App Manages Home Appliances and Air Conditioning for 200,000 Households
Expand your business with SmartThings Pro, target the corporate market
The number of apartment complexes that can control home appliances, lighting, air conditioners, and ventilation devices using Samsung Electronics' SmartThings app has surpassed 200,000 households, and the spread of home IoT solutions is increasing. Based on these results, Samsung Electronics plans to expand its business with SmartThings Pro, Samsung Electronics' AI B2B solution.
Samsung Electronics announced on the 22nd that the number of smart apartments using its AI B2B solution SmartThings Pro has exceeded 200,000 households.
SmartThings Pro, a smart apartment solution specialized for apartment complexes, is leading the era of smart apartments by expanding its scope of application to a total of 248 complexes and 200,000 households, starting with Samsung C&T's Raemian Leaders One in November 2020.
In addition, we are strengthening differentiated AI B2B smart homes by applying smart apartment solutions through cooperation with many construction companies, including large construction companies, small and medium-sized construction companies, and high-end officetels.
Smart apartment solutions control various devices in the home, such as home appliances, lighting, air conditioners, ventilation devices, and electric blinds and curtains, and manage convenience information, such as elevator calls, parking information, unmanned delivery management, and visiting vehicle registration, all with a single app, providing residents with a differentiated living experience.
Systematic energy management is also possible with the SmartThings Energy service, which allows you to check real-time electricity bills and usage and also learn about carbon emissions according to device usage.
In particular, if you pre-set the device to operate in AI saving mode, it will automatically run AI saving mode according to the selected option, and it provides various functions that incorporate game elements, such as energy saving missions that provide benefits equivalent to the amount of electricity saved when a power usage reduction notification (DR is issued).
In addition, by using the 3D Map View, which shows the floor plan of our house in three dimensions, we can intuitively check and manage the status of home appliances connected to SmartThings in each space, as well as lighting, temperature, air quality, and energy usage.>
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics was recognized for its innovation by winning five awards for its newly introduced AI B2B solution SmartThings Pro at Infocomm 2024, North America's largest display exhibition held in June.
SmartThings Pro is a service that can efficiently manage corporate IoT products such as smart signage, hotel TV, system air conditioners, home appliances, lighting, temperature and humidity control, and cameras using AI to suit the corporate environment.
It will support space optimization functions such as AI predictive heating and cooling that adjusts the store temperature to the desired time through learning, as well as data-based AI comfort control that optimizes energy use while ensuring that customers do not experience any inconvenience.
Samsung Electronics Vice President Park Chan-woo said, “We plan to apply smart apartments with AI B2B solutions to more complexes and households so that more consumers can experience a more convenient daily life at home with Samsung Electronics’ AI.”
